We are absolutely thrilled and honoured to announce the very special release of new album ‘Be Known’ from Kahil El Zabar’s Ethnic Heritage Ensemble!
This is a music group with a long established history in the American underground spiritual jazz scene and one of the two remaining original groups in the world today (together with the Art Ensemble of Chicago) that were nurtured in the legendary AACM! Kahil El’Zabar - Chicago’s best kept jazz secret, is an artist on a league of his own - mentored by Phil Cohran and with a significantly strong contribution in the continuation of the spiritual and afro-futuristic jazz music for the last four decades.
Ethnic Heritage Ensemble’s incredible line-up also includes the super-talented Corey Wilkes on trumpet, the deep, extraordinary Alex Harding on baritone sax, and the fierce Ian Maksin on cello.
This is Be Known: Ancient / Future / Music for your mind, body and soul. Coming up on Spiritmuse Records in 10 MAY 2019 on deluxe double vinyl, CD & digital

these minimalistic drums (and yet super creative and full of polyrythms) combined with catchy basslines and Idris Rahman's extraordinary play make this ep just unique and perfect - highly recommended StrangeFlow
